【Networking Power Supply】APD obtained GB4943.1-2022 ：the first new standard certificate from CQC in the power supply industry

As the safety standard IEC62368-1 of IT & AV type products become globalized, the corresponding market access and coordination regulations of various countries and regions are constantly transitioning to IEC62368-1.

China’s national standard GB 4943.1-2022 “Audio Video, Information Technology and Communication Technology Equipment Part 1: Safety Requirements” was announced on July 19, 2022, and will be officially implemented starting from August 1, 2023. The corresponding relationship between the old and new standards and the IEC standard is as shown in the table below:

According to the latest regulation requirements, starting from 2023.8.1, products manufactured and shipped must meet the requirements of the new national standard, which has more stringent test specifications and evaluation requirements for fire ratings of casings and the overload testing of the varistor. This will significantly impact the designs of external power supplies that use plastic cases. Many power supplies with such components selected and designed according to the older version cannot past the testing and evaluations now.

As a national quality certification agency of China, the product certification from CQC has strong authority and credibility, and is an important certificate for obtaining legal sales qualifications in the China market. APD places significant emphasis on the Chinese market, proactively studing the requirements of the new national standard and the impacts to the product designs in advance, and now the power supply products of the Company fully comply with the new design requirements.
